šŸ Protecting 40+ Local Jobs: How We Helped Keep a Major Manufacturer Operating

We’re proud to share another outstanding planning outcome, helping a major faƧade manufacturing business at Adams Court, Sunshine West continue operating after facing an urgent planning enforcement deadline that placed more than 40 local jobs at risk.

When the client came to us, the business was operating without the required planning permit and had been issued a strict timeframe to resolve the matter before enforcement action and potential fines could occur. With the future of the business on the line, our team acted immediately to establish a clear planning pathway.

We prepared a comprehensive planning application seeking approval for the use of the land for Industry together with a substantial reduction in the standard car parking requirement. Working closely with the client and our consultants, we demonstrated that the established manufacturing operation could continue operating without adverse impacts while supporting ongoing employment within Brimbank’s industrial precinct.

Council subsequently issued a Planning Permit and endorsed plans, allowing the business to continue operating with planning certainty.

šŸ Project Highlights

  • Planning Permit issued through Brimbank City Council
    • Approval granted for the use of the land for Industry (FaƧade Manufacturing)
    • Significant reduction in the standard car parking requirement approved
    • More than 40 local jobs protected
    • Business able to continue operating with planning certainty

šŸ“ Our Contribution

Our team prepared the planning strategy, coordinated the project and managed the application through to approval by preparing:

  • Town Planning Drawings
    • Comprehensive Town Planning Report
    • Full project management throughout the planning application process

A special thank you to BRG Traffic for preparing the Traffic Impact Assessment and Waste Management Plan, which were instrumental in demonstrating that the site’s operational and parking demands could be appropriately accommodated.

A key part of our planning strategy was demonstrating that the statutory requirement for 114 car parking spaces significantly exceeded the site’s actual parking demand. Through detailed traffic analysis and supporting evidence, we successfully justified the proposed reduction while ensuring the operation would continue to function efficiently within the surrounding industrial area.

✨ Why This Matters

Planning isn’t always about new developments. Sometimes it’s about helping established businesses overcome complex planning challenges, protecting local employment, and ensuring important industries can continue contributing to the local economy.

For this client, the outcome meant far more than securing a permit. It meant protecting more than 40 local jobs, avoiding planning enforcement action, and giving the business the certainty to continue operating with confidence.

If your business is facing planning compliance issues, enforcement action, or requires planning approval to continue operating, we’d love to help find a practical pathway forward.
