🏗️Turning Strategy to Approval

Before any design or expansion could move forward, it was essential to confirm the church’s lawful use. Securing a Section 97N Certificate of Compliance provided that certainty, laying the foundation for a focused and confident planning application.
With that critical step complete, the pathway to approval became about demonstrating how the proposed extension could enhance the site without disrupting its surroundings.

The approved development delivers meaningful improvements while respecting the existing character of the neighbourhood:
- ✅ Two-storey extension
- ✅ Approximately 151m² of additional floor area
- ✅ New dining area and commercial kitchen
- ✅ Upgraded amenities
- ✅ Lift to improve accessibility for all users
- ✅ Multipurpose rooms, office space and quiet areas
- ✅ Retention of all 22 on-site car parking spaces
Importantly, the proposal was carefully designed to improve functionality without intensifying the use of the site: a key factor in achieving a smooth planning outcome.
