🌿 Building Within the Green Wedge: Another Successful Approval at Keysborough

We’re proud to share another successful planning outcome for our client at 152 Hutton Road, Keysborough, where we managed the planning process for a substantial new dwelling within the Green Wedge A Zone 1.

Set on an approximately 2-hectare property, the proposal delivers a large single-storey family home that provides a high-quality residential outcome while maintaining the spacious, open character of the surrounding Green Wedge.

🏡 Project Highlights

• Planning approval secured for a new large single-storey dwelling and associated works

• Approximately 609 sqm building footprint with generous setbacks

• Just 3.05% site coverage, retaining the vast majority of the property as open land

• 93% garden area and 96.95% permeability, supporting the landscape-led character of the site

📐 Our Contribution

Canter Town Planning took a hands-on approach throughout the project, providing project management, preparing the Town Planning Assessment Report and coordinating the specialist consultant team.

Our role was to bring the planning, design, landscape and arboricultural inputs together into a clear and cohesive submission, ensuring the key planning considerations were addressed from the outset and the proposal was well positioned for Council assessment.

🤝 Project Team

A big shoutout to the team who helped bring the project together:

🏡 JG King Homes for the town planning drawings and for ultimately bringing the project to life through the build

🌿 Adaptive Landscape Design for the landscape plan

🌳 Arbor Express for the Arborist Report

🤝 And a special thank you to City of Greater Dandenong Council for their collaborative approach throughout the planning process.

✨ Why This Matters

Green Wedge dwelling proposals require careful consideration of site planning, landscape character, vegetation, access, servicing and the relationship between the built form and the surrounding rural environment.

For this project, the generous site area, low site coverage, extensive permeable and garden areas, thoughtful setbacks and landscape response helped create a dwelling that sits comfortably within its Green Wedge setting.

This is where good planning coordination makes a difference. By identifying the key considerations early and keeping the project team aligned, Canter helped guide the proposal from concept through to a successful planning outcome.

At Canter Town Planning, we take a practical, hands-on approach to every project. From planning strategy and report preparation through to consultant coordination and Council engagement, we bring the right people together to keep projects clear, coordinated and moving forward.

Another great result for our client and project team. 👏
